Manta Rays: A Peaceful Giant In The Ocean

Image
Playful, curious, and are giant fish in the ocean with triangular pectoral fins, horn-shaped cephalic fins, and large, forward-facing mouths. Manta rays, well known as the peaceful giants of the ocean. Having horizontally flattened bodies, these sea creatures can live up to 50 years and takes up to 10 years of age to reach sexual maturity. Found in the tropical, subtropical, and temperate ocean waters across the globe. They hunt with their mouths wide open and feed on large quantities of zooplankton and Krim. Falling under the family of Mobulidae, there are only 2 species of manta rays, known as giant oceanic manta ray and reef manta ray. A giant manta ray can grow up to seven meters from the tip of each wing but are usually around four and a half meters. Where the reef manta rays are smaller and are usually between three and three and a half meters but have been recorded up to five meters. Manta rays are so smart, that they can recognize their reflection in the mirror

Jellyfish: An Amazing Species With Eternal Life Creature

Image
D eep in the ocean before any animal tread the earth they were here. A creature that has no head, no heart, and no brain have flourished over 600 million years, a jellyfish. Magnificent assents that can kill in seconds. They have mysterious abilities that scientists are knowing to improve the health of the human such as cancer, aging, and genetic disease. Scientists have found that they can also astonish the promise of eternal life.  These small creatures are microscopic and giant creatures are 2 meters in diameter whose tentacles can reach up to 20 meters length.  Jellyfish don't mate. Rather males release spermatozoids that float in the current. Some encounter the female egg cells and fertilize them. The fertilized egg develops into an elongated which fixes itself on the rock and continues to until it becomes a minuscule organism, a polyp. They have a central mouth surrounded by tentacles, which they use for catching prey. They catch enough prey until they turn themse

A Fish That Can Save The Coral Reefs

The reef provides a safe haven for millions of extraordinary creatures and plants. But if left grows unchecked they can literally kill the reef.  Parrotfish are the most important creatures when it comes to protecting the health of the reef. They eat the dead and algae-covered coral, allowing fresh coral to form and rebuild the reef. Without parrotfish, the entire reef will die quickly.  There are almost 95 different species which are found in coral reefs, rocky coasts, and seagrass beds, and can play a significant role in bioerosion. Each species has a different color scheme and can change their color as they go from babies to adults. This tremendous creature spends 90% of the day by eating dead algae and coral. When eating corals that contain rock, which then leads to white sand poo, a parrotfish can release up to 5 tons of sand per year. As participating in the hygiene of the reef their teeth become filthy, so every day they need a cleaning section. At the cleani

The Majestic World Of Dolphins

Image
D olphins are marine mammals that are easily recognized by their curved mouths, which mostly feed on squids and fish. Currently, there are 36 dolphin species and are found in every ocean. The orca often called a killer whale is considered as the largest dolphin which can grow up to 30 feet long. Echolocation For Communication and Hunting Dolphins use a highly sophisticated type of sonar called echolocation which makes them find things that are buried under the sand. This makes them easy to hunt when dolphins approach the surface for air, the sneaky small devils come out. Teamwork and collaboration are the keys to their survival. They communicate with each other in a complex language using squeaks, whistling, and clicks. They carve physical touch with each other.  A dolphin pregnancy lasts between 9 and 16 months, where the mother feeds their offspring with milk. They also train them on how to survive and hunt for their self-being. Cleaning Section You know dolph

Sea Turtles: The Endangered Species

Image
Sea Turtles have outlived almost all the prehistoric animals once they shared the planet. Marine turtles inhabit the oceans open waters and coastal habitats, feeding on jellyfish and other aquatic plants and animals. They are the live representatives of a group of reptiles that traveled our sea for more than 100 million years.  Importance of Sea Turtles These sea turtles have been living for more than 100 million years and maintaining a fundamental link in the marine ecosystem. They maintain the health of seagrass beds and coral reefs that benefit the valuable species such as lobster, shrimp, and tuna. Having outlived million years they can hold their breath up to five hours. They also transfer the vital nutrients from oceans to beaches and dunes. The seven extant species are The Green, Loggerhead, Kemp's Ridley, Olive Ridley, Hawksbill, Flatback, and Leatherback, which are endangered. Five of the seven species are found in tropical and subtropical waters. The other two sp

Do Piranhas Are Really Human Eaters? Find Out Now

Y ou've probably heard that piranhas are the deadly sea creatures that rely on animal or human flesh. But do you know confidently whether it is true or not? Here is a little story you can know about them. What are piranhas? Piranhas are a member of the Serrasalmidae family, inhabit in South American rivers, ponds, and reservoirs and also in the Amazon rivers. Studies say that they are at most 4000 different marine species and can grow up to 5 to 20 in., depending on the species. Scientists from various universities have done numerous experiments to know more about this tremendous creature. Even popular channels like the Animal Planet, Discovery have made many documentaries to study and know about these sea life creatures. A person who is obsessed with these sea monsters when to the Amazon river to find out the truth. Initially, he has done fishing to find the different piranhas living in that area. He also has done experimenting about this by risking his own lif
